Mount Kilimanjaro

Mt. Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano in Tanzania, the highest mountain on the African Continent, and the highest single free-standing mountain in the world at 19,341 feet. From July 11-16, this majestic mountain loomed large and within sight as our team led spiritual leadership conferences in two very rural locations at the Kenya-Tanzania border: Taveta and Njukini. It wasn’t the majesty of Kilimanjaro that took us there, but the majesty of God’s Kingdom calling. Plans for these two conferences began in 2019. The Covid pandemic prevented us from going in March of 2020. A freak ice storm in Houston, Texas grounded the US Team after boarding an outbound Turkish Airliner on February 14, 2021. Two strikes, but not a third! ACTS Africa made the commitment to these pastors and leaders two years ago and kept that promise in July 2021! Moe Malugen (Sugar Creek Baptist Church, Missouri City, TX) and Tim Brummel (Revolution Church, Canton, GA) completed our team as co-speaker and worship leader respectively in the conferences and local schools. Over 800 pastors, church and community leaders attended the two conferences. The theme: Nehemiah: Chosen to Lead in the Broken Places. Over 1,000 students in community schools heard the Gospel and received encouragement from Moe and Tim in both locations. Changed lives change lives! If you’re a pastor or worship leader, just maybe you’d want to join an ACTS Africa team in the future. Contact jrushing.acts@gmail.com to learn more. But anyone can be a sponsoring partner!
